The Florida Gators will have some of the top high school recruits in the country on campus. The Florida Gators will be playing against the Auburn Tigers as it’s the biggest game of the week. This game could play a big role in some of these player’s recruitment, as a win for the Gators could give Florida a better chance to land them. Florida will also host four top recruits as official visitors this weekend. Florida will host three four-star recruits and one five-star recruit for this weekend. Here are the four official visitors that’ll be at the University of Florida for the Auburn game this weekend.
E.J. Smith is a four-star running back out of Jesuit High School in Dallas, Texas. Smith is the son of former Florida Gator and Dallas Cowboys running back Emmitt Smith. The four-star running back has always been very high on Florida, as his dad was a star there before becoming an NFL Hall of Famer. The Gators have still not found a running back for the 2020 class and a great official visit for E.J. Smith could really benefit Florida. On Rivals, Smith is the 96th ranked recruit and the second ranked athlete in the country. On the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Smith is the 120th ranked recruit and the fourth ranked all-purpose back in the country. During his recruitment, Smith has received 22 offers from schools like Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Stanford, Texas and USC.
Marcus Dumervil is a four-star offensive tackle out of St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Dumervil is one of Florida’s top priorities as Florida needs more offensive line and he’s one of the top offensive lineman in his class. The Gators already have a commit from his high school in four-star linebacker Derek Wingo. Florida seems to be one of Dumervil’s top schools and this weekend could have him trending in Florida’s direction. On ESPN, Dumervil is the 72nd ranked recruit and the tenth ranked offensive tackle in the country. On the 247 Sports Composite, Dumervil is the 95th ranked recruit and the tenth ranked offensive tackle in the country. During his recruitment, Dumervil has received 46 offers from schools like Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Ohio State and Oklahoma.
Zykeivous Walker is a four-star defensive out of Schley County High School in Ellaville, Georgia. Walker is an uncommitted recruit and has been heavily recruited by the Florida coaching staff. The Gators already have four-star defensive end Antwaun Powell committed in the class but would like to add one more. Georgia seems to be the heavy favorite for Walker but things could chance as the season rolls along. On Rivals, Walker is the 151st ranked recruit and the seventh ranked weakside defensive end in the country. On the 247 Sports Composite Rankings, Walker is the 154th ranked recruit and the ninth ranked defensive end in the country. During his recruitment, Walker has received 23 offers from schools like Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, LSU, and Mississippi State.
Darnell Washington is a five-star tight end out of Desert Pines High School in Las Vegas, Nevada. Washington is the highest ranked recruit that will be campus and surprised many that he’s taking an official visit to Florida this weekend. Sophomore tight end Kyle Pitts has had a lot of success this season as this could be one of the reasons Washington is taking an official visit to Florida. He’ll be an interesting recruit to follow this weekend as we’ll see how involved Florida is in his recruitment. On ESPN, Washington is the eighth ranked recruit and the #1 tight end in the country. On 247 Sports, Washington is the 16th ranked recruit and the second ranked athlete in the country. During his recruitment, Washington has received 36 offers from schools like Alabama, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, LSU, Oklahoma, Ohio State and Texas.
